About Us
Grace Church Port MacquarieGrace is an Independent Church Founded in Port Macquarie in 1995 and is a member of the Crosslink Network of Independent Churches in Australia. Because Grace is not part of a denomination, what we do in worshipping and serving our awesome God, may be different. This flyer, we hope, will enlighten you to a glimpse of the DNA or core values of Grace Church, Port Macquarie Inc. Grace is known as a middle-ground Church and shares the same values as an Evangelical/Pentecostal Church. We believe God is Sovereign, the Bible is the infallible Word of God, and Jesus paid the full price for mankind's sin on the Cross and there is healing at the Cross. Christians are saved by Grace alone and good works must emanate from our relationship with God. To become a Christian, you must be 'born again' by the Spirit of God, and to be empowered for ministry, you need to be Baptised with Holy Spirit. At Grace, we also believe that all the New Testament gifts are available from God for Christians. We also believe that Christ will return and gather His Church and take us into Heaven. Those who have failed to believe in Jesus, will be condemned to Hell for Eternity. To grasp the particular DNA of Grace, on the back of this flyer we have summarized the four keys points into an anagram ….WHEW.
W…. is for WORSHIP At Grace we believe that worshipping God is our primary purpose. The first four sermons preached at Grace in 1995 were on worship. Man was created in the image of God to worship Him. We believe we must worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4: 23-24). True worship is based on the truth of who God is as He is portrayed in His Word, the Bible and this worship is intimate. Intimate worship is my spirit communicating with Almighty God who is Spirit. At Grace we believe that when we worship God in song, we are singing a love song to God. In worship we seek to enter His presence. This is why we encourage a bracket of intimate songs to God without a break in our worship time in Church. Worship is two-way. It is my communication with God through singing and praying, and communication from God through teaching and preaching His Word, prophecy, exhortation or a message in tongues with interpretation. Sometimes the Kingdom of God breaks through in worship and people experience amazing healings and a sense of God's wonderful love.
H….is for HOLINESS At Grace we encourage all members to be like Jesus. He died for sin. We are saved by Jesus and need to grow in His Love and Likeness. We hope that every person at Grace will be healed from the hurts of the past and be free to be the person God created us to be. We encourage all to do a number of Careforce Lifekeys courses to be free from shame, guilt, unforgiveness, and addictions and to discover God's arena of Healing. We have a GRADS stream of Discipling to train and equip all at Grace to serve God and to proclaim His Kingdom. GRADS will enable the new Christian to grow into maturity and some may be led to prepare themselves for full-time mission or ministry. Daily prayer & study of God's Word are essential for growing in Holiness. We encourage all at Grace to spend time with God each day, read a Bible study guide such as Every Day With Jesus and to pray. Gathering for Church prayer is also an essential part of the life of Grace. We encourage all Church members to tithe their income to the storehouse, the Church. We believe in first-fruit giving and each month Grace gives the first 10% of its income away to other Churches, missions and needs as God directs. We believe in showing our trust in God by giving Him thanks for what He has provided.
E….is for EVERYONE At Grace we believe that every Christian is able and should minister to others. We believe in body ministry. We do not expect ministries of love and healing to be done only by the professional or select Christians. We believe every Christian should minister God's Love and His Gifts. We encourage all in the Body of Christ at Grace to minister to each other and to witness about their faith in Christ AND to lead non-Christians to Christ. Each time we meet, whether in Church or in a Connect Group, we expect that everyone sitting in a seat at Grace and walking with Jesus is able to minister to the person sitting next to them, if they should ask. God's gifts of prayer & ministry are not only for the elite Christian but for everyone. At Grace we place a strong emphasis on relationships. We know that people visiting our Church will only stay if they establish a friendship. We have a number of Connect Groups in the Church that meet weekly or fortnightly and all at Grace are encouraged to belong to a group. As well as Bible study & family groups there are a number of special interest groups such as craft, golf, scrap booking and four wheel driving.
W…. is for WITNESS Along with worshipping God intimately, we believe we are also called to share our faith with those around us. God's heart is for the lost and unsaved. Our heart as Christians must also to reach out in practical and empowered ways to win the lost for Christ. We encourage personal witnessing in love and deeds. To seek God for his gifts so as to minister supernaturally to those in need of healing and salvation. We support and participate in mission to the world outside our Church doors. We believe we are just one part of God's Church in Port Macquarie and together we must pray and work together to win our city and nation for Christ.
