Hi Grace Family, this last Sunday we sat with Jesus at Jacob’s well in John 4 and learned what it looks like to “Press In to Push Out.” The deeper we go as true disciples, the more His love compels us to carry His truth into our world—especially as we step into the next 10 weeks of the Alpha course.
Jesus’ witnessing style begins before we speak: He listened to the Holy Spirit, and the assignment mattered more than comfort, culture, or preference. He met a hurting, overlooked person in an ordinary place, and He started with something normal: “Can I have a drink?”
From there, Jesus created a sense of intrigue by showing kindness in a cruel world which opens a door for truth. Then He moved from a natural need (water) to the deepest need (spiritual living water): not religion, not trying harder, but Jesus Himself.
He also anchored her response with the Spirit’s power and God’s Word, leading her to see Him clearly as Messiah. The proof of her belief was simple—she left her water pot behind and ran to tell others.
Church, are we still carrying the pot of unsatisfaction, or will we leave it and step into the harvest that is ready now? This week let’s ask Jesus to show us one “well” to sit by, and be ready to offer living water.
Prayer is essential for the success of Alpha so can I encourage you to cover this time in prayer every week. Eternity hangs in the balance for those who attend.
God bless you church.
