Hi Church
Sundays together are always inspiring. But they don’t just happen by chance. A lot of planning and praying go into every week. Not so that we perform well but that we can minister the Love of Jesus and serve each other well with our gifts. From World Changers Youth on Fridays, to Kingdom Kids and Church family gathering on Sunday, every meeting is gathering the Body of Christ to be formed and fashioned into the image of Jesus. Participation is not mandatory but always an invitation to sit at the table of community and experience His presence.
Renee reminded us of this truth during her communion message where she highlighted that it was through experiencing family in the high and lows that faith endured and faith was lived strongest. Kerry Medway also revealed through sharing his recent experience at Cooper Peddy, having returned there after many years, that sincerity of heart and dedicated love within community is never forgotten and sows the seeds of transformation that could take decades to be seen in full. We need to remember Gal 6:9 that says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Kerry also highlighted some great truths from David’s time in the cave of Adullam in 1 Sam 22:1-2. Where David saw incredible transformation take place in a community of 400 men and their families who came to him distressed, debt-ridden and discontent. But in the course of time they became David’s mighty men, who were renown for great exploits. Such transformation could have only occurred through growing faith, loving family and God’s Spirit uniting them together. This brokenness to wholeness eventually changed the entire Kingdom of Israel. Imagine what we could do to society if our families represented the wholeness and healing available in the Kingdom of God. Challenging thoughts.
