Hi Church,
I love the surprises of the Spirit as we allow Him to direct us through the service time by faith, which was well led by Jess. The prophetic direction came during a worship song presented by Josh that challenged us to surrender all to Jesus. In that moment a call to break down the mindsets or strongholds that cast shadows over the glory of Jesus in our lives. 2 Cor 10:4-5 tells us to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Jesus. I believe there are doubts and fears that need to be surrendered that we have held on to for a long time. So when we say surrender, we not only identify the thoughts, we must give them away to Jesus, we don’t hold onto them.
This becomes important when we consider being sent out into the world to represent Jesus and bring the Kingdom of God near to people. If we fear people, if we doubt the power of the Kingdom to transform, heal and deliver, then we will not be the apostles, the sent ones, that Jesus wants us to be.
My message from Matthew 10 on Sunday, unpacks the necessity of being disciples who are active in advancing the Kingdom, its culture, its values, its authority into darkness to bring light.
It may cost you everything to do it, family, reputation, wealth, your life, is that too much? As the great missionary apostle Hudson Taylor said, “NO! Can we do too much for Him? Can we do enough for such a precious Savior?"
How can you bring the Kingdom which is as close as your arm’s length to someone in your world this week? Thank you to Kaidee and Justin for bringing us real life examples in their world. Maybe your world will brighten up this week as you surrender doubt and step out in faith.
This weekend coming on Saturday we congratulate Gail Baker and Colin Amos on their wedding, and pray for many wonderful years of blessing ahead. Then on Sunday Ps Kerry Medway will be sharing great truth with us from Matthew 11.
