Hi Church,
I pray you enjoyed the long weekend and experienced some fun times with family and some rest from the usual commitments.
Amanda and I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend as we caught up with most of our adult children, and then celebrated the 21st Birthday of our daughter Chantelle. Our Mum and Dad hearts were totally full by Monday as we returned home tired but satisfied.
Thank you to the team for looking after Grace over the weekend, which started last Thursday with a memorial service for Deb Larkin, continued with Saturday for a men’s breakfast and then again for the wedding of Gail and Collin at midday and then finally thank you to Ps Kerry for sharing the word on Sunday.
A summary of Kerry’s message from Matthew 11 is the following:- Jesus meets us in our doubts, disappointments and weariness. When John the Baptist struggled with uncertainty, Jesus gently pointed him to the evidence of God’s work and reminded him of his faithful calling. We too are invited to fix our eyes on Jesus, trusting Him rather than the storms around us or our limited understanding.
Yet this passage also warns us not to harden our hearts to the good news. Christ calls us to respond with faith while the opportunity is before us. Best of all, Jesus welcomes the burdened: “Come to me,” He says, “and I will give you rest.” His yoke is personally fitted and His strength equips us for the work He gives us.
This week, bring your doubts, burdens and plans honestly to Jesus. Trust Him afresh, receive His rest, and take the next faithful step in His strength rather than your own. Thank you Kerry for good teaching from the word.
Another major truth the Lord impressed upon the Church was presented through Kaidee McKerrow and Josh Teison, they both felt led by the Spirit to read Ps 112. It is a very stirring Psalm and has a lot of good principals for faithful living.
Let’s continue to press in Church and believe God will lead us outward into His great harvest.
God Bless
Ps Greg and Amanda
