HI Church,
I really enjoyed being in the gathered family at Grace on Sunday. The depth of truth that was expressed during Worship, Communion and Testimony time and how it all tied in together was so encouraging and hopefully my message made a difference as well. I know I enjoyed putting it together and sharing it. Here is a summary.
This week’s message was from Matthew 6:19–34 it reminded us of Jesus’ clear and loving invitation: “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.” In a world that constantly pulls our hearts toward temporary treasures, divided attention, competing loyalties, and anxious thoughts, Jesus calls us back to what matters most.
We were encouraged to consider where our true treasure is, because where our treasure is, there our heart will be also. Earthly things can fade, break, or be taken away, but the treasure of God’s Kingdom lasts forever. As followers of Jesus, we are invited to invest in what is eternal: our relationship with Him, our families, our friendships, our witness, and the people God has placed in our lives.
Jesus also reminds us that we cannot serve two masters, and we do not need to be ruled by worry. Our Heavenly Father sees, knows, cares, and provides. Instead of allowing fear to divide our hearts, we are called to trust Him, pray, and rest in His peace.
Above all, seeking the Kingdom means seeking King Jesus Himself. He is our greatest treasure, our first priority, and the One worthy of our whole heart.
There are great things happening ahead for young families with a Picnic on Town Green, weather permitting, and a new life group just for them happening from 4th Term, so stay tuned for details.
One of my favourite events for the year is the Combined Churches Worship and SRE celebration night. This will happen on the 12th of September at the Salvation Army from 5:00pm.
